“The finest view in England” according to the vet and author, James Herriot, is fitting as you take in the Vale of Mowbray and the Vale of York from the Sutton Bank escarpment.

Two Trampers are available daily, one at 10.30am and the other at 11.30am.

Couples and friends wanting to use both Trampers at the same time should contact the visitor centre before booking to ensure that adequate staff is available to support them.

You can enjoy a choice of two popular routes, starting and finishing at the Sutton Bank National Park Centre.

Cliff Plantation Route offers good opportunities for wildlife watching and follows a section of Cleveland Way with cliff top views. There is also a viewing platform with information on the scenery.

This route is approximately 2.5km long (or 1km for viewing platform only) and takes up to 1 hour 15 minutes.

The White Horse and Yorkshire Gliding Club Route boasts stunning cliff top views and a closer look at the Yorkshire Gliding Club and the White Horse of Kilburn.

The round trip is approximately 4.5km long and can take 1.5 hours.

Members must be accompanied on the route by another person during the tramper hire session, due to limited or no mobile signal.

All Tramper users must stay on the designated Tramper route path.
